This plate is inspired by the folklore of butterflies.
In British folklore the butterfly is a symbol of hope and transformation.
Handmade from locally sourced earthenware clay in my studio in South West England. This plate has been painted with hand mixed glazes, using resist and layering techniques. It was fired three times in an eco kiln. This slow but beautiful process ensures every plate is unique and collectable.
